The Technical Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of technology and creativity in 2D animation studio. This role will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the animation production process, collaborating with various teams to optimize workflows, and implementing cutting-edge tools and techniques to enhance overall efficiency and quality.
• Design and implement an efficient 2D animation pipeline that supports the creative vision of the studio.
• Work closely with the creative and production management teams to identify and address pipeline bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Continuously evaluate and update the pipeline to incorporate industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Software and Tools Management:
• Oversee the selection, integration, and maintenance of software tools used in the animation process, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
• Provide technical support to artists and animators, troubleshooting issues and optimizing workflows.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in animation software and technology, recommending upgrades as necessary.
• Lead research and development initiatives to explore and implement new tools and techniques that can enhance the studio's capabilities.
• Foster strong communication and collaboration between technical and creative teams to ensure a smooth production process.
• Work closely with the Director, Art Director, and other stakeholders to understand their vision and technical requirements.
• Act as a liaison between the technical team and other departments, translating technical jargon into understandable terms for non-technical team members.
• Establish and enforce technical standards and guidelines to maintain the highest quality in animation production.
• Conduct regular reviews of assets and animations to ensure they meet technical specifications and creative standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of technical artists and developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

• At least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role within a 2D animation studio or related industry
• At least 3 years of experience working with Python Programmers/Developers
• At least 3 years of experience working on API/DCC applications; dealing with database is a plus
• Holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Animation, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
